Favourite Music of the month: Map Of The Soul : 7 by BTS (Album)
I am not a die hard k-pop fan or an army (BTS fandom name). But I do listen to some good k-pop songs and OST (Original Television Soundtracks) often. How I discovered BTS was surreal. It happened around in the late 2017 where I was actually listening to random Korean OST and the next song YouTube autoplay me the song “Blood Sweat and Tears” – BTS. It caught me off guard because I was listening and doing my work at the same time. Then I realised it was not an OST, I continued listening to the entire song and I was pretty impressed by it. Since then, I do keep a lookout on them for any new released songs.
Map Of The Soul : 7 is latest album and was released on 21st February 2020. Unfortunately, I did not purchased a physical copy of the album, I streamed the album on Apple Music. Out of all the album they released, I felt that this album was the best as they showed us their genuine feeling lyrically. I am not implying that their previous was not good. Their past albums were good, but this album is fantastic.
According to their album discography, “MAP OF THE SOUL : 7” looks back on the past seven years of BTS since their debut as seven members of one team. The journey was not always smooth sailing, and there were special travails that they had to endure in their rise as global superstars. Now, understanding that the scars left by those hardships is a part of their real selves, BTS accepts both “the self I want to show” and the “self I want to scorn” to at last tell their own story of finding their “real and complete selves”.
My best 3 songs from this album are
- My Time
- 00:00 (Zero O’clock)
Don’t get me wrong, I liked all the song from the album. But I am a sucker for vocal. If you are interested, feel free to stream their song on Spotify or Apple Music.
